Mrs. Washington also founded the Apex News Company which printed a monthly trade publication from which one could purchase supplies for the salon or the home. It not only featured hairstyles, fashion, and makeup tips but the latest in interior design as well. News of graduates and their successes were interspersed with inspirational articles , cartoons and the obligatory letter from the editor.
